Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

Over the past few weeks, the growing concern of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has all of our attention.  Consumers Credit Union is monitoring the latest news daily and has taken action to safeguard the health of our Members and employees.  

Staff has been educated, utilizing best practice guidelines from the CDC, on how to keep their environment clean and healthy.  We have also taken additional measures to protect the health of our Members and employees including frequently disinfecting Service Center surfaces, door handles and ATMs, providing employees hand sanitizers for use between Member interactions, encouraging employees not to come to work if they suspect illness, restricting group gatherings and allowing employees to work remotely when possible. 

We also wanted to remind you, our valued Member, about the ways you can bank from home or virtually anywhere, anytime, as avoiding public areas may be preferred.

We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation and working across CCU to do all we can to keep our employees and Members healthy and manage our operations. 

Current Status of in-branch teller services:

Beginning Friday, March 20, all CCU service centers will be moving to Drive-up Teller services only. We will continue to update this page as circumstances change, along with our Locations page

As a reminder, here is a breakdown of the services provided at our different locations:

We're expanding what you can do in our drive-ups as well as the hours of operation. Temporary new hours will be:

8am -6pm Monday - Friday

8am - 2pm Saturday

Shared Branching Update

You may have issues conducting shared branching transactions at other credit unions due to lobby and/or full office closures.  Please call ahead prior to visiting other credit union shared branching locations to confirm service availability and hours.  These updates may not be readily available via the shared branching site.   Learn more and find shared branching locations.

We’ve partnered with Andigo Credit Union to ensure that both our Members and their Members can utilize each credit union's drive ups to transact as if they are at their home credit union during these challenging times.  Andigo Credit Union has locations in Schaumburg, Streamwood and Carol Stream, Illinois. 

COVID-19 Related Scams - How to Protect Yourself

Several different scams are being reported by both the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) that we’d like for you to be aware of.  The goal of these scams is to acquire personal identification and financial information for fraudulent access to financial accounts.   These scams are being tailored toward both the anticipated government stimulus program that will provide many Americans with payments as well as virus-related information. 

The best defense against any type of scam is education and awareness.  Please take a minute to review the helpful reminders below and keep yourself protected:

1.  The government will not ask you to pay anything to receive funds from their anticipated stimulus plan.  There will not be fees or     
     charges associated.
2.  The government already has the information they need to process any payments.  They will not request your social security
     number, bank account information, or credit card number.  
3.  The government stimulus/payment program has not yet been implemented.  If you receive any communication via email, phone or
     direct mail that you can receive this money now – this information is being sent to you from a scammer.
4.  Be aware of fraudulent emails claiming to be from a government organization. If you receive an email claiming to be from the WHO
     or CDC, don’t click on any links provided.  Instead, go directly to the respective website through a separate search engine to verify
     information.
5.  Do not rush to donate to charities or crowdfunding sites. Please do your homework and research charities and organizations to
     verify validity and never provide a donation by cash, gift card, or wire.
6.  Do not click on any links from sources you do not know.  Clicking fraudulent links can download viruses to your computer or device.
7.  Ignore online offers for vaccinations.  There currently are no vaccines, pills, lotions, prescriptions or over-the-counter medications
     or products available to treat or cure the COVID-19 virus.
