A message from Sean Rathjen, CEO

If you’re looking for a financial institution that acts in your best interest, we’re the people in your corner.
At Consumers, we focus on people, not money. That philosophy drives how we run the credit union, and it applies to everyone—our members, employees and communities.
It starts with listening. The member feedback we gather through daily interactions and formal surveys helps steer our investments in systems, products and processes. And to make sure we maintain our status as an employer of choice, we continually monitor employee engagement and satisfaction.
Here are just a few of the ways we served members and our communities in 2025:
- Transformed members’ digital experience by making it easier to open new accounts, delivering a fresh new website loaded with features and upgrading our digital banking platform
- Added more branches so we’re literally on more corners—a newly opened location in Lake In The Hills, plus additional branches coming in early 2026 as former KCT credit union locations officially join the CCU network
- Tallied 1,300+ employee volunteer hours, attended 70 community events and partnered with more than 55 local organizations
- Expanded our community outreach around financial wellness, with an emphasis on helping young people build lifelong, healthy habits when it comes to money
- Refreshed our suite of Visa credit card offerings with compelling benefits and features and introduced a new cash back card
- Doubled the daily ATM withdrawal limit
This year, we were honored to receive numerous awards in recognition of our ongoing commitment to providing employees with an outstanding workplace:
- Great Place To Work® (third consecutive year)
- Fortune Best Workplaces - Chicago™ (second consecutive year)
- Fortune Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance™ (second consecutive year)
- Fortune Best Workplaces for Women™
- Fortune Best Medium Workplaces™
Putting people first—it’s in our DNA. If you have suggestions for how we can serve you better, we’d love to hear from you.
Wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy 2026.
