Consumers Credit Union to accept Property Tax Collection for Lake County Treasurer's Office in Summer 2024
Released February 14, 2024
Gurnee, IL — February 14, 2024: Starting this May, Consumers Credit Union branches will join several banks and credit unions as a collection point for Lake County property taxes. This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve the overall experience for taxpayers and ensure a seamless payment process. Residents can visit any Consumers Credit Union branch in Lake County, Illinois to make their property tax payments with their stub, providing them with added convenience and flexibility.
“We are excited to partner with Consumers Credit Union to provide our residents with an additional location to pay their property taxes,” said Holly Kim, the Treasurer of Lake County. “Instead of driving to my office in the Waukegan courthouse and going through security to wait in a line, you can conveniently visit any of the Banks and Credit Unions all over Lake County by your own home that take payment on our behalf and hand you a receipt – just as if you paid in our office.”
"Consumers Credit Union has been recognized for its commitment to diverse communities and has received numerous awards for its outstanding service," said Sean M. Rathjen, President and CEO of Consumers Credit Union. “We are committed to serving our members and the community, and we look forward to working with Treasurer Kim to make the process of paying property taxes more convenient for everyone.”
