Financial Literacy Champion Grants
Rewarding educators who teach the ABCs of money.
At CCU, we’re committed to helping people achieve financial wellness and security, and we believe in the saying, “start ‘em young!”
We want to help youth build lifelong habits that support their financial wellness from the start. One way we’re doing that is by establishing the new Financial Literacy Champion Grants—they reward teachers who boost their students’ money know-how.
The grants are underwritten by the Consumers Cooperative Association, the sponsor of CCU. They’re designed to recognize teachers who demonstrate dedication to educating students on financial wellness and go above and beyond to create engaging curriculum.
Grants
Five grants are available, each in the amount of $1,000:
- $500 as a personal award for the teacher
- $500 for the teacher to purchase tools and supplies for the classroom
Eligibility
Teachers working in K-12 schools in Lake, DuPage, Cook, Kane and McHenry counties are eligible for the Financial Literacy Champion Grants. Students, parents or other faculty can nominate educators, and teachers can also nominate themselves.
Timing
Nominations for the grants will be accepted from April 15 through May 15.
