If you’re a member who does not currently hold a CCU loan or credit card, we may be able to help** you stretch your budget through:

You can apply online or call us at 877.ASK.CCCU (877.275.2228).
Additional Assistance
- Know Your Rights. Under the Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019, furloughed federal employees are guaranteed back pay. A recent draft memo from the Office of Management and Budget, however, suggests that not all workers will be eligible.
 - Check For Benefits. Consider filing for unemployment benefits. The U.S. Department of Labor oversees the unemployment insurance program to ensure compliance, but individual state governments manage the benefits and determine the eligibility criteria, amount and duration.
To learn more and find resources in your state, visit How Do I File for Unemployment Insurance?
- Call Your Creditors. Ask for fee waivers, deferrals or hardship accommodations.
 - Avoid Payday Loans. Explore safe side gigs rather than take out a loan from a payday lender. These short-term, high-cost loans can end up adding to your financial stress.
 - Seek Support. The Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund has a variety of resources for workers affected by the shutdown. GreenPath Financial Wellness*** offers free financial counseling.

*Skip-A-Pay for auto and personal loans will be processed for your next eligible loan payment. When you make the request, the next payment due will be deferred to the end of your current contract. Skip-A-Pay for your CCU Visa credit card will defer your current due date by one billing cycle. Interest will continue to accrue on your outstanding balance during the skipped period.
** Applicants must meet standard qualification criteria for these products, including demonstrating a satisfactory credit history and the ability to repay. We understand that some government employees may be working through backpay situations; in these cases, current income will be considered in evaluating repayment capacity. No applicant will be penalized solely because of backpay status.
